Below are the most common Video Wall formats and their characteristics:
Mosaic:
As the name suggests, this format creates a mosaic-like layout, using multiple monitors arranged in an irregular configuration. For this format, dedicated Video Wall processing software is required to properly configure the content and precisely define the position of each screen within the layout.
In this format, the number of rows and columns is the same, such as 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, or larger configurations. It is one of the most widely used layouts due to its symmetry, balance, and ease of content distribution.
Portrait:
The portrait format resembles a vertical display, typically consisting of a single column with multiple rows. In some cases, more than one column may be used, but the number of rows is always greater than the number of columns to maintain a vertical appearance. This format is ideal for vertical content, digital signage, and architectural applications.
Landscape:
The landscape format is the opposite of portrait. In this case, the number of columns exceeds the number of rows, creating a wide, panoramic display. This layout is commonly used for control rooms, presentations, and immersive visual experiences.
